Merlyn was minimally improved this AM. Probably only because he was taking Torbugesic which made him more comfortable. So he was euthanized at about 10AM today.

Despite his horrible early years Mer was a good guy. He probably never had a really good day (physically) because even on the best days he had to work at breathing.
He liked to bark at folks--but not at me. He liked to bite ankles---but not mine (unless he was trying to get me to hurry up with supper). I could do anything with, for, or to him with no problems at all. And no matter how bad he felt, he would always have a wag of the tail for me. And he never, never complained, about anything.
I will miss him, just like the others.
